Generating Mining Wealth for Universities and Low-Income Communities | Kim Booker | BTC Impact

I am joined by someone who couldn’t be described by anything less than a visionary. Kim Booker is the Co-founder of BTC impact, a nonprofit dedicated to educating the disenfranchised on Bitcoin, sovereignty & self custody. However, in our conversation, you’ll see that Kim and her Co-Founders Marshall Long and Valton Eason are doing much more than that. Kim is a true Black Bitcoin Billionaire success story.

  1. She first learned the concept of Bitcoin mining in one of our rooms only last December
  2. Met her co-founder in a session
  3. Created BTC impact
  4. In 8 months launched the first-ever BTC mining club at a university institution, providing equipment, classes, and college credit for students at the University of Wyoming.

Recently, her team won BBB’s inaugural 20k investor pitch day for her latest S8S9 project. This initiative installs S9 miners into subsidized housing units providing revenue generation for tenants, that can be used towards a down payment on their first home. Needless to say, this conversation took some time. We begin with her background working on nonprofits, her passion for civic engagement, and efforts towards lowering recidivism rates of formerly convicted citizens through wealth education. Then around 20 minutes in we get into the deeper bitcoin story.
